Michel Colombier has spent three years working on his ambitious
"symphonic-pop cantata" Wings (A&M) now produced by Herb Alpert and featuring Lani Hall (former lead singer
with Sergio Mendes), a full symphony orchestra, a 25-piece jazz group, a
rhythm section and string trio.
The result is a powerful and attractive sound, despite its divided
birth: jazz, rhythm, classical and string sections were recorded in
Paris, solo singers, chorus and woodwinds in Los Angeles.
